Wyvern is a boss in Sonic Frontiers. It is the Titan of Ares Island.

History[]

Like the other Titans, Wyvern was created by the Ancients to protect them from The End.

Sonic Frontiers[]

In Sonic Frontiers, Sage unleashed Wyvern’s anger on Sonic the Hedgehog after the hedgehog defeated Giganto and arrived on Ares Island. However, Sonic collected the Chaos Emeralds, turned into Super Sonic, and destroyed Wyvern.

Boss fight[]

First encounter[]

Wyvern is first encountered as normal Sonic. In the first encounter, the player must run away from Wyvern while it shoots rockets. There are events, such as dash-pads, platforms, ruins, etc. in the path while the player runs away from Wyvern.

Second encounter[]

After collecting six Chaos Emeralds on Ares Island, the player can access the boss fight against Wyvern. First, they must climb a tower to reach the height of the flying Titan. After Wyvern approaches them, they must homing attack to trigger the cutscene where Wyvern creates a floating path (similar to Squid’s) and shoot bullets on it. After the player goes through the path, Sonic will jump into Wyvern’s head and will be able to collect the last Chaos Emerald and turn into Super Sonic.

After becoming Super Sonic, the player must chase Wyvern in the air across the map and parry at least one rocket and then parry Wyvern’s claws to start dealing damage. If they Quick Cylooop, Wyvern will be bind by chains and the player can keep attacking for longer. After Wyvern reaches half health, the second phase starts.

The player repeats the previous cycle, and after that Wyvern shoots rockets, and if the QTE is timed correctly, Sonic will turn the rockets into a ball and use it to deal damage to Wyvern. After that, there is another QTE to stop Wyvern from falling down. After that, it will shoot more rockets, resulting in two back to back QTEs to stop the rockets and to open Wyvern’s mouth and destroy it wth its own rockets.
