Other[]
- Tom-Tom, the protagonist of the original Wonder Boy, was due to appear in the cancelled Sega Blast Heroes alongside other Sega characters such as Sakura Shinguji, Selvaria Bles, Ulala, Alex Kidd, Amigo, Beat and Gum.
- Tom-Tom had also originally been planned to be included in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, but due to confusion over who owned the rights to his design during development, he was ultimately cut.[1]
- Shion, the protagonist of Wonder Boy in Monster World, appeared in Fleetway's Sonic the Comic for two series as the protagonist of his own stories.
- Asha, protagonist of Monster World IV, appeared in Vol 2 of the Sega Gals Collection collectable figurine line.
Hudson's Adventure Island[]
Hudson's Adventure Island is a reskin of Wonder Boy, made possible by Sega not owning Westone as a subsidary. The first title in the series is a straight reskin, with Master Higgins taking the role of Tom-Tom, Princess Leilani(later named Tina) taking the damsel role of Tanya, and the Evil Witch Doctor(later named King Quiller) taking the role of the villainous King.
After this initial reskin, Hudson began to make original sequels to the game starring Master Higgins.
In 2005, Master Higgins once again became a reskin of Wonder Boy for the limited time mobile title, Super Adventure Island, using Wonder Boy in Monster Land as the basis this time.
