Waku Waku Sonic Patrol Car is a 1991 arcade game released only in Japan. It is a release in the "Waku Waku" series of Rides for kids and features Sonic the Hedgehog taking the role of a police officer protecting the streets from Dr. Eggman
Gameplay[]
The ride features a short game, controlled by a steering wheel and two buttons, one making sonic spin jump out of the car and the turning on the siren and starting the game[1]. Sonic gives an introductory speech and then jumps into the patrol car. At the beginning of the patrol, the player has to avoid hitting other cars and Flickies on pedestrian crossing.
After a while, The player has to take down the now appeared Dr. Eggman in a red vehicle while he offends traffic and throws bombs at Sonic. The player has to activate the siren and jump on his vehicle for a bit as to defeat him, and if the player does so, Eggman's vehicles explodes while he escapes. Sonic then returns to the police station and thanks the player for driving.
At the end of the ride, the ride rewards the player with 1 to 5 stars, based on how well they did.
