Virtua Tennis is a series of tennis games published by Sega, Hitmaker and Sumo Digital.
Gameplay[]
All four games allow players to play as real life tennis pros. The first game only allowed Men's division, but starting from Virtua Tennis 2, the women's division became a staple.
All games allow for single and doubles matches and include a World Tour mode where the player starts off as the 300th seed and must work their way up through the ranks by beating opponents and mini games using the mechanics of the game.
These minigames vary greatly from breaking clay plates, to taking on a tank that shoots tennis balls at you to using soccer balls to score goals against cardboard opponents via serving.
