Tom-Tom, otherwise known as TomTom, Bock Lee Temjin, or sometimes even simply referred to as Boy or Wonder Boy is the protagonist of the first Wonder Boy game in the Wonder Boy series.
Tom-Tom is a cave boy of undetermined age. He has long blonde hair tied up in a top knot, blue eyes, and wears little other than a loincloth made of leaves.
In Wonder Boy Returns, his loin cloth has a single strap holding it up over his left shoulder.
History[]
Tom-Tom was hanging out on the beach, waiting for his girlfriend Tanya when two girls arrived and began to flirt with him.
Tom-Tom is alarmed to see Tanya appear who gives him a thrashing for his cheating ways. Furious and upset with him, she crushes him under a boulder before walking away.
Tom-Tom pleas for forgiveness soon turn to yells of warning as Tanya walks away covering her ears. In doing so, she is unaware of an approaching King who proceeds to kidnap her, carrying her off into the distance.
Tom-Tom panicked he'll lose Tanya forever gives chase and battles his way through King's army, eventually coming face to face with King himself.
After a difficult battle Tom-Tom emerges the victor, taking King's trident. He spots Tanya relaxing on the beach and waves the gem rock he rips out the trident at her, proposing to her. Tanya, surprised Tom-Tom went through such lengths for her embraces him.
Unbeknownst to Tom-Tom, King transforms into cupid and gives Tanya a thumbs up which she returns. It turns out this was all a plan to make Tom-Tom realise how much Tanya meant to him.
Tom-Tom and Tanya are married and go on to have eight children together.
Trivia[]
The Master System version of Wonder Boy in Monster Land incorrectly refers to the hero of that game, Book, as being the same person as Tom-Tom. This is proven incorrect later on in Monster Boy in the Cursed Kingdom where Tom-Tom and Book both appear to help the hero of that game Jin.
Tom-Tom appears to have been planned for the cancelled mobile game Sega Blast Heroes.
Tom-Tom was also considered for Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing but concerns over who legally owned Tom-Tom's design and confusion over his name(Wonderboy, Boy, Tom-Tom or Book) which varied region to region and Adventure Island's titles muddying the water, led the team to play it safe and skip over the character.
