Thunder Force is a series of space shoot 'em up games, usually developed by Technosoft and published by Sega. The franchise is known for its hardcore appeal, stunning visuals, and synthesizer-based chiptune soundtracks.
The series currently has six main games in total. Most of the installments were released onto the Mega Drive, with the first one appearing on Japanese personal computers, and the most recent entry being exclusively released onto the PlayStation 2.
