Tectoy is a company responsible for distributing several of Sega's gaming systems in Brazil.
History[]
After Tectoy was founded in 1987 they struck a licensing agreement with Sega to market a laser gun game based on the anime series Zillion.
Tectoy managed to sell more units in Brazil than SEGA managed in Japan. Impressed by this, SEGA made them the official distributor for the region for their latest home console, the Master System.
The Master System as a result of Tectoy's efforts went on to become not only the best selling console at the time in the region, but continues to this day sell in numbers as part of the Plug In and Play style consoles rivaling modern day consoles in sales in the region.
Tectoy's efforts have also made the Master System the longest selling console of all time, ranging from 1989 to present day in Brazil.
Tectoy were also responsible for distributing the Mega Drive in the region, and that too went on to achieve great success.
