Spike is the lead protagonist of the the SpikeOut series.
Appearance[]
Spike is a tall, muscular black man sporting dreadlocks, a golden necklace, a white t-shirt and orange pants with his name written down the black stripe on the side in yellow lettering. The outside of his arms are covered in black tribal tattoos. However, contradictory to his intimidating looks, he is often seen with his five year old son, Spike Jr, clinging to his back even in combat.
At the age of 37, Spike has grown more muscular, now sports cornrows, and has swapped his necklace out for one made of golden letters that spell out his name. His orange and black pants have been replaced by a jumpsuit that he half wears, tying the sleeves around his waist like a belt.
History[]
Spike grew up in New York, and earned a living as a professional boxer. By the age of 22 he'd become a father to the young Spike Jr. At some point during this time Spike retired from boxing, moving to Diesel Town, a small island town in America, to raise his son. Spike's known for being particularly bad at interpersonal skills, since his dangerous aura scares people off regardless of his own feelings towards those he scares.
Whilst looking for employment, Spike ended up working in a factory alongside White, a former soldier. White, confident in his fighting ability challenged Spike to a fight, but ended up losing to Spike, his first ever loss. As a result White has made a habit of keeping tabs on Spike and is the only person to ever casually hang out with him. Eventually after getting into trouble on the streets against rival gangs he met Linda and Tenshin, and with White, the four of them formed a team, with Spike declared the leader due to his overwhelming strength, rising to the top of Diesel Town as Team Spike.
Diesel Town was always a town full of frustrated and angry youth gangs, running riot with violence, and following their leaders into gang wars, but the situation became far worse when "Team Inferno" from another city mobilized to take over Dieseltown with an army of thugs. The takeover was precise and brutally bloody as every gang on the island was subjugated by Team Inferno. Whilst some resisted, it ended up falling into Team Spike's hands to drive Team Inferno out. Spike, not wanting to leave his son alone, allowed him to tag along during this battle, making their way through Diesel Town, Astro Mall and into the Imperial Opera, the mansion of Team Inferno's boss, Mikhael.
Ten years later, Spike seemingly vanished from Diesel Town. Linda gets in contact with 15 year old Spike Jr, requesting his aid in locating his father and helping free Diesel Town from the reborn "Team Neo Inferno" who had placed a price on Spike's head. Unbeknowst to the others, Spike had continued the fight against Neo Inferno to free Diesel Town from them, and was the target of assassination from Spike Jr's new ally, Fiona.
When Spike finally shows up in the flesh again, he encourages his son to end the fight against Neo Inferno with "Team NeoSpike" consisting of Spike Jr, Fiona, Jackal and Min Hua. Spike Jr defeats Mikhael, but as he does Mikhael see's Spike in the place of Jr. Afterwards Spike congratulates his son on managing to defeat Mikhael, and hands him a spraypaint can to add "Neo" to a piece of Team Spike graffiti, passing the torch to his boy.
