Sonic Blast is a platformer released for Sega Game Gear and the Sega Master System. It had impressive graphics for an 8-bit system (Especially the Master System version), which is because the game had pre-rendered 3D graphics and sprites. It is also the last Game Gear / Master System game in the Sonic series.

The game starts out with Dr. Robotnik stealing the Chaos Emeralds and building a new base, Silver Castle. Sonic in this game can do a special double-jump and Knuckles can do his standard climbing and gliding.
