Sonic Adventure 2 was made by Sonic Team USA. The game was originally made for the Dreamcast. But the game later got ported to GameCube, a bit improved. The GameCube version was called Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. This was the last Sonic game to be released on the Dreamcast. It is also the first ever Sonic game to be released on third-party systems.
Background[]
Although the Dreamcast had done well, consoles such as the Sega Saturn and Genesis add-ons caused Sega to lose consumer trust.
Plot[]
Gameplay[]
The gameplay focuses on three modes with both Team Hero and Team Dark following these modes. Sonic and Shadow focus on the basic mode where they must reach the goal with their super speed, while dodging obstacles and defeating enemies along the way.
Knuckles and Rouge's mode is a treasure hunt mode where they both must find three pieces of an object or three objects. While Rouge's mode focuses on finding various objects throughout the game, the majority of Knuckles' stages have him search for pieces of the Master Emerald.
Tails and Dr. Eggman's stages involve them slowly making their way towards the goal in their own mecha suits by destroying enemies, going up platforms and many various things that are new to the Sonic franchise.
