Blizzard Castle is a frozen area built around a volcano. Race on the icy battlements, through the castle gates and onto curving wooden bridges. Those giant eggs will spin you out, but the crows shouldn't cause too many problems here. I wonder if those barricades will break? | |
Roulette Road | Casino Park | Sonic Heroes |
This giant, neon-lit, casino-themed area is home to huge fruit machines, roulette wheels and pinball tables. Balls roll by in the hustle and bustle as you race, avoiding hazards such as poker chips, pinball flippers and bumpers. Reception[]
Trivia[]
- Many other characters were planned for this title but didn't make it into the final title include Vyse from Skies of Arcadia (some issues with his vehicle looking right prevented his inclusion), Gilius Thunderhead from Golden Axe (even getting as far as getting a model made, but like Vyse the vehicle would not work correctly), Tom-Tom from Wonder Boy (confusion over the Wonder Boy license prevented it however), Nei from Phantasy Star (Unknown reason for abandonment), Segata Sanshiro (rights to his likeness complicated this addition), Ristar(who at least got a cameo), NiGHTS (who ended up as the game's flagman) and ToeJam and Earl (an agreement with the rights owner could not be reached in time).
- Sumo Digital mistakenly used a placeholder image of Sonia the Hedgehog from Sonic Underground fan art by deviantARTist, RianaLD. This was meant to be official Amy Rose artwork, but due to an error the wrong pink hedgehog was placed into the artwork. Sonic Team noticed the error and demanded a fix, to which it was removed in the PC version, although the Wii version retains the image due a lack of update features on the console. As a result of this error, this marks the video game debut of Sonic Underground's cast. Sumo Digital have since apologised profusely to the original artist.
- The loading screens have the words "Sonic Says" accompanying Sonic. This is a reference to the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon that would always end on a subsection that would attempt to teach children a valuable life lesson.
