Shadow Generations is a spin-off of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. The game is one of the two campaigns present in Sonic X Shadow Generations alongside Sonic Generations. However, it has a much different tone than the latter game. It is the second Sonic game to feature Shadow as the main character, the first being Shadow the Hedgehog, released in 2005.
Plot[]
Shadow the Hedgehog and Doom's Eye, from the game.
Black Doom returns to complete his conquest of Earth and manages to send Shadow the Hedgehog into his memories. The story happens at the same time as Sonic Generations.
Gameplay[]
The gameplay of Shadow Generations is similar to Modern Sonic’s gameplay from Sonic Generations with elements from Sonic Frontiers. Shadow retains many of the same abilities as Modern Sonic, including the Spin Jump, Homing Attack, Stomp, Boost, and Air Boost.
Shadow has many Chaos powers, such as Chaos Snap, Chaos Spear and Chaos Control. The Chaos gauge replaces the Boost gauge and limits how much Shadow can use these abilities. Additionally, Shadow can use Doom Powers, including Doom Wing, Doom Surf, Doom Spear, Doom Morph and Doom Blast.
White Space is a 3D hub-world similar to the Open Zone from Sonic Frontiers, rather than the 2.5D place from Sonic Generations.
