History[]

Past[]

When Selvaria was younger she was placed into a lab for the Imperial Research of Valkyrur powers. She and her fellow test subject Crymaria Levin spent their youths being tortured by cruel experiments attempting to bring forth their latent power.

Prince Maximilian Gaius Von Reginrave was visiting the labs having taken an interest in the legends of Valkyrur and despite Crymaria having overall more power, Selvaria was selected by him to serve under him as she was far more stable than Crymaria, which caused a rift between the two, Crymaria resenting Selvaria for being 'the chosen' leading to a battle between the two. Selvaria for her part viewed Crymaria as a friend and consoled her privately, telling her that she could just as easily have been chosen and reassurring her that some day she'll find someone who loves her as much as (she believed) Maximilian loves her. Crymaria saw this as fairytale nonsense but secretly hoped it would be true.

As a result of Maximilian's selection of her, Selvaria had fallen in love with the prince, following his command simply because she wishes to be of use to the man who had freed her from her living hell. As a result she was often front and center of Maximilian's army, and acted as his personal bodyguard as well. By the time Maximilian decided to invade Gallia, Selvaria had risen to one of his three most loyal and trusted generals, Drei Stern.

Valkyria Chronicles[]

Selvaria is first encountered by both the player and Squad 7 in the Barious Desert where she is assisting Prince Maximilian exploring the depths of the hidden sanctum. Welkin Gunther, Alicia Melchiott and Faldio Lanzaat also stumble into the sanctum. Alicia wishes to end the war at this moment by killing Maximilian, but Selvaria threatens to kill her if she tries. Maximilian suggests if they wish to battle, he'll meet them outside as he doesn't wish to spill blood in this holy place.

Selvaria is sent off by an overconfident Maximilian, assuring her that Batomys, his armoured tank, will be more than enough to deal with a scrappy group like Squad 7 and requests she leaves to deal with other squads, including Squad 1 led by Faldio.

Selvaria makes quick work of the other squads, forcing Faldio to pull out just as Squad 7 appears to have the upper hand against Maximilian through clever exploitation of the tanks weaknesses. Selvaria, sensing Maximilian is in danger, returns and begins to race across the desert, defeating anyone foolish enough to stand out in the open. When the Batomys is destroyed, Selvaria switches from destroying Squad 7 to rescuing Maximilian, prioritising his safety first and foremost.

Selvaria later faces down Squad 7 once again on the Naggiar Plains. Squad 7 are vastly outnumbered, but manage to capture some of the Imperial bases. Selvaria attempts to turn the tide of battle singlehandedly, planning to capture the Gallian base by herself. The race between the two ends with Squad 7 just about capturing the last imperial base and Selvaria causes heavy losses. Satisfied with the way the battle was going, Selvaria returned to the Imperial core base to plan her next move. During this time a sniper shoots Alicia Melchiott.

When Selvaria returns to the battlefield, she see's a stumbling Alicia Melchiott, glowing blue and carrying the same lance and shield weaponry as herself. Selvaria outraged claims there is no need for two Valkyrurs, and rushes forwards to duel with Alicia. Despite her battle experience as a Valkyrur, the seemingly half dead Alicia Melchiott is just far more overwhelmingly powerful and manages to defeat Selvaria with little effort. With Selvaria taken out, Squad 7 obtains a victory against the stunned Imperial army, forcing them to retreat.

Valkyria Chronicles 3: Selvaria retreats to Ghirlandaio, where she encounters Imca, a Darcsen seeking revenge on her for the destruction of a small village in Tiluca. During a hard fought duel, Selvaria comes out on top, defeating Imca and returning her to Squad 422 in return for their immediete retreat.

Selvaria apologises for her loss against Alicia Melchiott to Maximilian, stating she'd do absolutely anything to make ammends for this loss and restore his faith in her. Maximilian in return commands her to use her Final Flame, a huge burst of Valkyrur energy caused by using up the life force of the user. Selvaria is shocked at her suicide mission, but cannot go against Maximilian's command, resigning herself to death.

Selvaria makes her last stand against Squad 7, sealing her Valkyria powers for the duration of battle, instead trying to find meaning in herself as a human being, taking them on with only her own skills with a gun. After a gruelling battle, she is eventually captured by Squad 7, and taken away by General Damon, who plans to use her capture to further his military career. Selvaria agrees to being taken away, but requests Squad 7 lead her captured troops away to be held as prisoners of war. General Damon, who doesn't particular like Squad 7's success dwarfing his owns agrees as it will give him all of the glory for her capture.

Later, Selvaria asks how long it was since Squad 7 left. Damon reveals it's been a few hours at this point, to which Selvaria smiles knowing her men are a safe distance away. She begins to glow bright blue with flame, and detonates herself creating an explosion big enough to take out a huge chunk of Gallia's army, killing Damon, his men and herself in one last act to further Maximilian and the Imperial army's goal.
