Sega Saturn de Hakken!! Tamagotchi Park is a Japan-exclusive Tamagotchi title released in 1998.
Gameplay[]
Like all Tamagotchi titles, the idea is to hatch, raise and help grow your baby Tamagotchi into an adult by keeping it happy, clean, well fed and healthy, cleaning away their poop and disciplining them when they misbehave.
There are several games the player can play with their Tamagotchi such as a left or right guessing game, a card match game or a Track game that involves racing.
There's also a few contests the player can put their Tamagotchi in for including an eating contest and a Track contest based off the Track game.
Sega Special line[]
Sega line eggs will occasionally be laid by Sekitoritchi, a sumo wrestler looking Tamagotchi.
Upon obtaining the egg, it can be hatched into ChibiRomtchi, a baby level Tamagotchi that looks like a computer chip.
Raising ChibiRomtchi, it'll become Romtchi, a child level Tamagotchi. It looks like a larger computer chip.
Depending on what level of care Romtchi recieves from the player it will either become one of the following Teen level Tamagotchi:
- Cartritchi, a Cartridge shaped Teen level Tamagotchi if it has been raised with good care
- Disctchi, a CD shaped Teen level Tamagotchi if it has been raised with bad care
From this point, the Tamagotchi splits yet further: Cartritchi can become:
- Opaopatchi, an adult level Tamagotchi based on Opa-Opa with near perfect care
- Pengotchi, an adult level Tamagotchi based on Pengo with above average care
- Flickytchi, an adult level Tamagotchi based on Flicky with sub-par care
- Alextchi, an adult level Tamagotchi based on Alex Kidd with bad care
Disctchi can become:
- Flickytchi, an adult level Tamagotchi based on Flicky with good care care
- Alextchi, an adult level Tamagotchi based on Alex Kidd with bad care
- Sonictchi, an adult level Tamagotchi based on Sonic the Hedgehog can be obtained through either perfect care of a Cartitchi (aka perfect raising of the Sega egg) or under some circumstances can evolve from Pengotchi.
Trivia[]
- The style of this game is very similar to the Gameboy trilogy although multiple Tamagotchi's can be raised at once in this version.
- This title came with an exclusive Saturn Backup Memory external cartridge for saving the game.
- Despite Sonic, Alex and Opa-Opa being explicitly male characters, their Tamagotchi versions can be both male and female. The same goes for Flicky and Pengo's Tamagotchi versions too.
