Sega Play Heart, formerly Play Heart Co., Ltd are a subsidery company of Sammy Sega Holdings.
History[]
Play Heart Co., Ltd was established in July 2011 after being selected in the social game category from the submissions of Japan's largest app development support project "Future of Apps" the previous year.
They released a few mobile titles in association with Fuji TV including Soul of Material, The Last Legion of Exile and Gold Rebellion R.
In February 2015 they joined SEGA as a subsidary company.
Their first project under SEGA was Liberation of the Blue Sky, a free to play RPG mobile title with gacha elements and was released May 19, 2016. The game shut down September 26, 2017.
The second project Play Heart worked on alongside SEGA is operation "Project: A", beginning in December 2017. This operation is still confidential and no further details have been discussed as of April 2024.
Their third project in collaboration with SEGA is Fist of the North Star: Legends ReVIVE, a gacha RPG based off of the Fist of the North Star manga and anime series.
The company's name changed to Sega Play Heart on April 1st, 2025, and Takehiro Nagase became the new President and CEO of the company, whilst former President and CEO Fukuzato became the company's director.
