Sega Mega Drive - Nintendo Switch Online, otherwise known as Sega Genesis - Nintendo Switch Online in North America, is an online service provided by Nintendo. It is provided to Nintendo Switch owners that have a paid Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.
Announcement[]
On 23rd September 2021, Nintendo announced an additional membership plan to their Nintendo Switch Online service. Known as the Expansion Pack membership, this would allow Nintendo Switch players to play not only NES and SNES titles, but also added Nintendo 64 titles and more surprisingly, the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis.
The service began on 26th October 2021, with options for existing members to swap over to the Expansion Pack.

Additional peripherals[]
Alongside the announcement of the new Nintendo 64 and Mega Drive/Genesis emulators, Nintendo announced replica controllers of the systems which can be used wirelessly. Additionally the Mega Drive controllers came in western and Japanese styles.
