Sega GT is a racing game developed by WOW Entertainment, also known as Sega AM1. The game came out in 2000 and was released for the Dreamcast console, and saw two sequels, Sega GT 2002 and Sega GT Online, both for the Xbox. The series was meant to rival the Gran Turismo series by Polyphony Digital.

Gameplay[]

Gameplay consists of racing around a track and be the first to complete the set amount of laps. There are 22 tracks and 130 cars in the game. The cars are sorted by class, and cars can only race other cars in that class. There is also a split screen 2P mode, where the class does not matter. The modes include Grand Prix, in which you race for a victory in a series of races, Single Race, where you compete in one race to take the gold, or Time Trials, where you try to beat the top times on each track.

Reception[]

The game was praised for the graphics, tracks, and car selection, but was criticized because for missing several major car manufacturers, including Chevrolet and Pontiac.
