Go Sega was Sega's year long celebratory 60th Anniversary event in 2020.

Sega Shiro campaign[]
To celebrate Sega's 60th anniversary, Sega of Japan created a campaign featuring Sega Shiro, the son of former mascot/spokesperson Segata Sanshiro who had tragically died in the last TV spot for the Sega Saturn protecting Sega HQ from a missile.
Sega Shiro would respond to various questions at school by announcing SEGA in response to the his classmates questions. The second TV advert had Sega Sanshiro's backstory of training with his father before being forced to face off with a mysterious masked judo martial artist.
The third advert had Sega face off with the masked man. After Sega Shiro takes him down in a match, it is realised that Segata was the masked man. Segata comments on Sega's growth and tells him to surpass him, telling him to throw him and forget about him. Sega throws Segata into space where he crashes into the planet Saturn. Sega wakes up revealing it to be a dream, but he holds his father's blackbelt in his hand with Segata's voice telling him he has entrusted Sega (the company)'s future with his son.

To go alongside this campaign, Sega created some Sega Shiro merchandise such as T-shirts, pens(and a acrylic holder) and badges.
Mini consoles[]
As part of the celebrations Sega announced and released two mini consoles:
- Game Gear Micro: As the 60th anniversary also coincided with Game Gear's 30th anniversary, Sega released four mini versions of the Game Gear in Black, Blue, Red and Yellow. Each console came with four games loaded on it which were fully playable at a microscopic size.
- Astro City Mini: A miniature version of Sega's Astro City cabinets from 1993. This console contains 37 built in Sega arcade games from across the 1980s and 1990s. Unlike the Game Gear Micro, both the USA and the UK had an official distribution.

Steam releases[]
SEGA released four limited time games to download for free on Steam in October 2020 as part of the celebration. All games were delisted on October 19th, leaving a very short window to obtain them.
- Armor of Heroes (October 15th, 2020): A Company of Heroes spin-off game featuring retro top down tank PVP gameplay.
- Endless Zone (October 16th, 2020): An Endless franchise shoot 'em up game styled after Fantasy Zone. The player played as Opbot on the run after being framed by the heirarchy for a pile of corpses.
- Streets Of Kamurocho (October 17th, 2020): A Yakuza side scrolling 2D beat 'em up styled after Streets of Rage. It featured Kazuma Kiryu, Goro Majima and Ichiban Kasuga as playable characters.
- Golden Axed: A Cancelled Project (October 18th, 2020): A Golden Axe prototype of an old 2012 cancelled game, Golden Axe Reborn. The player plays as Ax Battler taking on hordes.
Alongside these exclusive limited time downloads, Steam hosted a sale for all Sega games on the platform. Users could also briefly obtain NiGHTS into Dreams... for free on the platform.
Game tie-ins[]
- Two Point Hospital also celebrated Sega's 60th anniversary with some unique free DLC items:
- Out Run arcade: an item that improves patients boredom based on the famous OutRun cabinet;
- Periscope arcade: an item that improves patients boredom based on Sega's shooting gallery mechanical game of the same name;
- Dream Catcher arcade: an item that improves patients boredom based on Sega's UFO crane games of 1989;
- Space Harrier mammoth: a decorative stuffed cyclops wooly mammoth that improves hospital attractiveness and room prestige.
- Fall Guys included a limited time Sonic skin to celebrate the 60th anniversary.
