Rent a Hero (レンタヒーロー ) is a Japan-only action RPG released for Mega Drive in 1991 and for the Wii Virtual Console in 2007. It sold poorly in its initial release.[1]
Story[]
The player is Taro Yamada, an ordinary teenager whose family just moved to the Koja Town. The family made a party to celebrate the move and meet their neighbors, but during the party, the food was almost low. The player's mother asks for more food, and he contacts a delivery service named Seca (a play on SEGA), but instead of food he received a power suit. Using it to boost the party by making a hero show with his father, who was dressed as a monster, he wore the costume and discovered that it gave him powers, accidentally knocking out his father with a light tap. Checking it, he discovers that it is a high-tech super energy combat armor developed by Seca Enterprise that can make anyone a hero, but it is rented and requires batteries to work. He then decides to become a rental hero, helping a variety of people and fighting unscrupulous companies and gangsters that attack the peaceful city, and uses the money he gains to keep the armor charged and pay its rental fees in the bank.
