Puzzle & Action: Tant-R is a Puzzle and Action game developed by Sega and released in 1993 for the Arcades, Genesis and Game Gear. It is the first game in the Puzzle & Action series of Bonanza Bros. spinoffs.
Plot[]
The game follows two detectives (that look like certain enemies from Bonanza Bros.) hunting down a dangerous criminal named Boss[1] by completing various puzzles and games, and with the characters going to places like a desert, a city and a construction site.
Gameplay[]
The gameplay of the Puzzle & Action series always stays mostly consistent, 4 stages, with a number of minigames that count up with 20 minigames in total. The player must use the joystick and the button to do various things, and making mistakes will cost you a life. In each game, you repeat the instructions 3 or 5 times to progress. There are bonus games sprinkled in between stages as well, mainly about hitting balloons in order to get an extra life. There are also "lucky" tiles you can get when choosing games that gives you an extra life and picks out a random game for you.
Trivia[]
- It was included as a built in game in the Astro City Mini. It's untranslated from it's native Japanese but contains a brief explanation in English in western releases.
- The game's villain, Boss, originally appears in Bonanza Bros. as an enemy that throws bombs.
- The game's only English translation is it's remaster in Sega Classics Collection for the Playstation 2
