Puyo Puyo Chronicle is a puzzle role-playing game in the Puyo Puyo series released exclusively in Japan on the Nintendo 3DS.
Plot[]
Arle Nadja and Carbuncle are relaxing in Primp Town when a mysterious book falls from the sky. It opens, and sucks the two of them into it, transporting Arle and Carbuncle into a whole new world. The pair crash-land like a meteor into the new world, as a young girl named Ally witnesses their arrival. When Arle gets up she see's Satan standing before her with a huge grin on his face. He flirts with Arle once more, and Arle shoots him down once more before Satan reveals that Arle is going to be the hero of this brand new world. Arle accuses Satan of dragging her into yet another mess, but he claims it's not his power that is responsible this time. He tells her to head towards the tower before vanishing, seemingly against his will.
Confused about his disappearance, Arle is then charged upon by Ally, who reveals herself to be an adventurer, and reveals this world has a prophecy about a girl in azure armor with a very cute yellow creature at their side is destined to save the world. Arle is weirded out by Ally's enthusiasm, and insistance that they fall in love, but Ally reveals Arle must compete in Puyo Battles to save this world, to which Arle enthuiastically engages. Ally then leads Arle and Carbuncle to Grimp Village.
Gameplay[]
Puyo Puyo Chronicle differs from most Puyo Puyo titles in that the player will control Arle Nadja as she walks around towns and villages. Players must play Puyo Puyo in order to inflict damage. There is a level up system that increases Arle's stats such as attack and defence allowing her to inflict more damage and recieve less in return.
As Arle and Carbuncle progress they will be able to obtain more party members, allowing for a total of three party members at a time. Other playable characters include characters such as Amitie, Draco Centauros and Sig that are recruitable as Arle progresses in the story.
There are over 60 side missions to complete in the game.
