Princess Lora is a recurring character in the Alex Kidd series.
Appearance[]
Lora is a young princess with straight long green hair wearing a flowing blue dress. She is always depicted wearing her golden tiara. Often she is depicted without a nose.
In Pit Pot she has reddy brown hair and a different coloured dress on, either pink (Sega My Card art) or white (in game sprite).
History[]
Princess Lora was one day kidnapped by the evil Sorceror who took her to Pit Pot Castle. She was held hostage and placed under a curse. Many heroes attempted to rescue her but they all were killed inside the castle by the monsters that resided within until Prince Egle arrived. Egle obtained the Sorcerors hammer allowing him to effectively battle the monsters.
Whilst in the castle Egle also obtained a cross, sealing the Sorceror's power and a bottle of holy water that dispelled the curse on her. Upon her rescue, Egle presented a golden ring and asked her to marry him, to which she agreed. Lora then went to live with Egle and his family in Castle Radaxian.
Unfortunately Lora's troubles were not over there. Janken the Great and his army from Planet Paper-Rock invaded Planet Aries and took control of the castle. Whilst King Thunder went missing and Egle was captured, Princess Lora made sure Queen Patricia made it to safety before her own eventual capture, being petrified by Janken, and taken with him to his own castle.
Luckily for Lora, Alex Kidd, Egle's long lost twin brother arrived at Janken's castle having been battling his forces, making his way through the castle and defeating Janken, reversing Lora's petrification. She informs Alex Kidd of the power of the Golden Crown and sends him to locate it in the temple at the bottom of Cragg Lake. Alex then reverses the petrification for everyone.
With King Thunder missing, Egle is crowned king and Lora rules Radaxian alongside him and his mother.

Despite her limited speaking roles, Lora comes off as quite brave, having remained behind at Radaxian Castle after making sure Egle and Alex's mother, Queen Patricia was saved from Janken's attack.
Relationships[]
Fiancee to Prince Egle, she loves him very much for saving her from Pit Pot Castle, having gotten engaged to him afterwards. Curiously they don't appear on screen together in Alex Kidd in Miracle World, although she does momentarily mistake Alex Kidd for Egle upon being rescued in Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX.
She's on good terms with Egle's mother, Queen Patricia, having made sure she safely escaped from Janken's forces before being turned to stone by Janken the Great and was entrusted with the knowledge of the Golden Crown, Radaxian's secret weapon for reversing Janken's curse. She is seen with Patricia and Egle at the end of Alex Kidd BMX Trial.
She gets along well with Alex Kidd as well, after he saved her from Janken and rejoined his long lost family. She is one of the people awaiting his return to Radaxian Castle in Alex Kidd BMX Trial.
Trivia[]
- Despite her relatively small role, Lora appears on both the cover for Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX and was used for many Alex Kidd merchandise, such as the Alex Kidd Complete Album CD and pen cases.
- In Miracle World DX, Lora isn't petrified when Alex saves her, but mistakes him for Egle saving her once again.
- She appears at the ending of Alex Kidd: BMX Trial alongside Egle and Queen Patricia welcoming Alex home.
- In Pit Pot she is referred to as Princess Rooney. Despite this and her appearance change, it's claimed she is the same character as Rooney is a mistranslation of Lora.
