Phantasy Star II Text Adventures are a collection of visual novel style games made by Sega and released between 1990 and 1991.
History[]
All eight titles focus around the cast of Phantasy Star II, exploring the parties backstories and adventures prior to the events of that game.
The games were originally downloadable via the Sega Game Toshokan service in Japan, but later re-released as part of Game no Kanzume Vol. 1 and Game no Kanzume Vol. 2. Later still they were released alongside Phantasy Star II, Phantasy Star, Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom, Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium, Phantasy Star Gaiden and Phantasy Star Adventure as part of the Sega Ages 2500 Series Vol. 32: Phantasy Star Complete Collection.
The games were never officially released in English, but a fan translation project has come out allowing western English speaking audiences to enjoy the titles. As a result however the cast have their Japanese names instead of the English ones, aside from Nei who retains her name in both English and Japanese.
