Myau is a musk cat and one of the four main heroes in Phantasy Star.
Appearance[]
Myau is a pale yellow cat with thick flame-like fur and long lynx-like ears. Although he has only one tail, the end splits into several different curled sections. After consuming a Laerma Nut, he grows larger and gains pegasus-like wings.
When he first meets Alis, he wears a small bottle around his neck containing the cure to Odin's petrification.
In Phantasy Star Generation 1, Myau appears to be a slender brown musk cat with a thick tuft of hair-like fur atop his head and smaller eyes.
History[]
Myau was the travelling companion of Odin. The two of them travel to a cave near Palma to kill Medusa, but Odin is turned to stone by her. Myau escapes but is captured and sold to a trader from Scion who deals in rare animals. Alis trades a Laconian Pot for Myau's life and he becomes her first ally on her journey to track down Lassic.
Around Myau's neck when he is found is a bottle of Alshline, a potion that can turn stone back into flesh. Wanting to use it to revive his defeated friend, Myau finds he cannot open the potion and Alis agrees to help revive Odin, as she too is searching for him after her brother told her to seek him out to help take down Lassic.
Trivia[]
- Myau's weapon is his claws. 1000 years later they have been transformed into a claw like weapon that humanoids can use. This weapon is given to Nei in Phantasy Star II: Nei's Adventure.
- Myau is misgendered as female in the Brazillion version due to a translation error by Tectoy.
- Myau acted as an inspiration behind Tails' trademark twin tails design.[1]
