Metal Knuckles is a robotic double of Knuckles built by Dr. Eggman. He is Metal Sonic's "brother" due to the fact they were made by the same person. His only ingame appearance was in Sonic R, prior to being added as parts for the Battle mode of Sonic Superstars.

In Sonic R, Metal Knuckles makes his first appearance. Here he was created to complete with Knuckles the Echidna and his abilities are very similar to that of Knuckles.

Metal Knuckles appears in Sonic the Hedgehog 30th Anniversary Celebration.

In the Archie Comics, Metal Knuckles appears as a member of the Metal Series.
Sonic Superstars[]
Metal Knuckles returns as parts that can be used in the game’s Battle Mode. This also changes the appearance of the Cyber Station Zone boss to Metal Knuckles.
