- Teddy Boy Blues (テディーボーイ・ブルース) is an action platform arcade game featuring shoot 'em up mechanics. The game was endorsed by Japanese singer Yōko Ishino and her song of the same name. She also appears within the game as a playable character in one of the bonus rounds. Teddy Boy would have to shoot the spawning monsters in the maze to shrink them and turn them into a ball and collect them. If he failed to do so, the monsters would transform into bugs and eats away at the timer bar.

- Alex Kidd (アレックス・キッド Arekkusu Kiddo) is a platform video game franchise created and owned by Sega, starring Sega's former mascot, a young martial artist from an alien world known as Alex Kidd. The series was created by Kotaro Hayashida originally as a licensed Dragonball game[1] for the Master System. When Sega lost the license, Kotaro Hayashida adapted the game into an original work, which became Sega's answer to Nintendo's Mario for a short period between 1986 and 1989 before being replaced as the mascot of Sega by Sonic the Hedgehog. Despite being a platformer series, the franchise also experimented with Alex Kidd in other genres such as a racing title and in the west, an adventure game.

- Dynamite Düx (ダイナマイトダックス) is a side scrolling beat 'em up series created for arcades by Sega's AM2 division. The game revolves around a pair of ducks, Bin and Pin, trying to save their owner, Lucy from the clutches of an evil sorceror. The game recieved a Master System port, which removed Pin and changed the story to Bin being Lucy's boyfriend who had been transformed into a duck. The title was also released on non-Sega platforms such as the Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Commodore 64 and the ZX Spectrum.

The franchise also includes printed media, animations, films and merchandise.The series started in 1991 with the release of Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, to provide Sega with a mascot to compete with Nintendo's Mario. Sonic the Hedgehog is Sega's flagship series and one of the most successful video game franchises of all time, with series sales and mobile game downloads totaling over 1.66 billion units by 2023[2].

- Streets of Rage (ベア・ナックル 怒りの鉄拳 Bare Knuckle: Ikari no Tekken) is a sidescrolling beat 'em up franchise owned by Sega and originally created as an answer to Capcom's Final Fight. The franchise revolves around a group of cops turned vigilantes, Axel, Blaze and Adam as they take on Mr. X's underground syndicate using everything from their fists and feet to weapons to clean up the streets of Wood Oak City. Later entries added additional characters including Adam's brother Skate, daughter Cherry, Axel's pro wrestler friend Max, former syndicate member and cyborg Dr. Zan, Dr. Zan's assistant, Floyd, Mr. X's right hand man Shiva, fellow police officer Estelle and even a boxing kangaroo. The fourth entry was created by Guard Crush Games and Lizardcube.

Other games in the franchise explore other genres including dungeon crawling roguelikes where a group of heroes must explore the dungeons of the Endless whilst keeping a crystal safe from monsters, a short release of a Fantasy Zone inspired shoot 'em up and a dating sim visual novel featuring the Horatio, a race made up entirely of clones.
