Jin (ジン Jin ) is the lead protagonist of Shining Force Feather.
Appearance[]
Jin doesn't look like a typical Shining protagonist, designed very purposely by character designer pako to be "a hero who isn't very heroish"[1] designed with a dark edge.
Jin's outfit was designed with a combination of the concept of a dark edge hero, his rebellious personality, the element of fire, the keyword of 'Feather' and the neckline of a standard Japanese school uniform for boys.[2]
History[]
Jin was a war orphan who was taken in by a master swordsman, Osin who took him on as an apprentice alongside fellow war orphan Sizma. Jin's rebellious attitude however eventually got him kicked out by Osin.
Jin teamed up with Bail, his centaur childhood friend who was similarly looking to leave the village to avoid an arranged marriage, and the two began to travel the world seeking treasures far and wide. Eventually they stumbled across some ancient ruins where after teasing Bail about his fear of ghosts, Jin stumbled across Alfin, activating her and accidentally establishing himself as her 'master'.

- During the run up to the release of the game, a weekly illustrated doodle section was featured. pako created Jin in the style of Akira Yuki in Virtua Fighter, blocky polygon style and all. pako thought it was pretty funny but didn't get any reaction out of producer Shimosato and thinks maybe he should have gone for his other choice; a Yakuza parody instead based on the lack of reaction[3].
