Appearance[]
Ichiro Ogami is a man with short spiked hair and black eyes. In combat, he wears a white and blue uniform but whenever the revue's staging a show, he wears his ticket-clipper uniform, which consits of a formal outfit with a white collared shirt, a green tie and a yellow & brown unbuttoned vest.
Plot[]
Sakura Wars[]
Recently graduated from the naval academy, Ogami is told he will be becoming a squad leader of a secret organization known as the Imperial Combat Revue Flower Division and given the co-ordinates to rendevouz with a member of the troupe who will take him to their secret headquarters.
Excited to be put in charge of a crack team of elites, Ogami makes his way to Ueno Park, looking around for whoever might be the contact. He is then approached by a young swordswoman in a pink kimono who introduces herself as Sakura Shinguji and the point of contact. Ogami is surprised that Sakura is a soldier, but shrugs it off thinking that it's a secret undercover squad, so having female members dressed in non combat gear probably isn't unusual. Sakura reveals she is also new to the team, and the two hit it off as she guides him to the theater.
Ogami is shocked when the theater turns out to be an actual theater, but rationalizes it as being a good unsuspecting location for a base of operations. Inside he meets the other team members; Iris Chateaubriand, a tiny French girl who dresses like a doll and carries a teddy bear with her, Sumire Kanzaki, a beautiful if arrogant woman wearing a loose fitting kimono and Maria Tachibana, a cold and distant Japanese-Russian woman who hides a tragic past but Ogami at least can buy is a military member.
After meeting with Lieutenant General Yoneda, it is revealed to Ogami that this is in actual fact a troupe rather than a troop. Ogami is flabbergasted, but given his first mission...to punch tickets for guests coming to view the performances the girls are putting on. Ogami, confused and rather annoyed, does the task but goes to investigate what is going on and why he has been sent to work in an actual theater. While Ogami punches tickets, he first meets up with the Wind Division, a trio of women consisting of Kasumi Fuji, Yuri Sakakibara and Tsubaki Takamura who support the Flower Division in transporting them to battle.
It was until after some brief hours inside the theater, that the alarm goes off, promising the fate of his naval career. After suiting up, Yoneda reveals that during peacetime, the revue puts on shows and musicals, but when evil strikes, they suit up and fight in Kobu. Built by Kanzaki Heavy Industries, the robots are spiricle armor that are powered by spirit power that only the girls have. Ogami is a notable exception, able to power the Kobu without any spirit power. As Iris can't pilot a Kobu yet, she intends to join on the frontlines with the rest of the team soon. Ogami is later introduced to the revue's primary transport, the Gourai. As they head out into their first battle, they face-off against the Lords of Death, consisting of Aoi Satan, Crimson Miroku, Silver Rasestsu and Jade Setsuna. These four lords are part of the Hive of Darkness, led by Tenkai. After defeating Aoi Satan, the team do a picnic to celebrate.
The next day, Sumire tells Ogami that a new member is joining the ranks, Kohran Li, a Chinese inventor from the Hanayashiki branch, who had experience in the Imperial Combat Revue in the past and helped built the Kobu units that Kanzaki designed and the revue pilots. After that, Kohran arrives with her motorcycle to the Imperial Theater and in true Kohran fashion, it backfires and explodes. Ogami then picks Kohran up from the accident. Ogami bonds with Kohran for a bit, such as a game of Koi Koi. After that, Sakura trips and falls during one of the revue's productions, destroying the entire stage causing Ogami to get a wound on his finger. The finger was later healed by a mysterious woman. Sakura attempts to argue with him about that mysterious woman, Ogami then calms the tense down. A day later, Ogami attempts to fix the stage from the day prior, until the alarm sounds off, suiting up once again. This time, they have to stop Tenkai from destroying Shiba Park, with Kohran now in tow. After defeating Tenkai, the team discovers that the mysterious woman was none other than Ayame Fujieda, the vice commander of the Imperial Combat Revue.
The following day, Maria was haunted by her past, when she was a soldier in the Russian Empire during the Russian Revolution back in 1917. After her captain is killed in combat, she attempts to save him before a bullet strikes. Because of this, she faced various problems such as forgetting her lines during her performances, Ogami tries to cheer her up, but later runs away. When the troupe dismantle the set, it begins to collapse, almost hitting Iris. Ogami tries to save her, but at the last minute they were saved by the last member to be introduced, Kanna Kirishima, the 28th successor to the the Kirishima style of Ryukyu Karate and one of the Revue's longrunning members. After a quick bond with Kanna, Ogami later helps Maria find her missing locket, which they later find it before closing up shop for the day. After waking up from her tragic flashback, Maria gazes down at her locket, until the alarm sounds off, as the team suit up to stop an attack in Tsukijim to face-off Jade, with Kanna now in tow. While facing Jade off, Ogami is killed in battle by Jade's spiricle armor.
After waking up, he finds himself being strapped in a room with Tenkai and Kohran, but however Ogami finds out that it was a dream as the team wakes up the next day, after Jade defeated Ogami. However, Maria warns that, he is unfit to become captain after that tragic incident from the day prior before running off. After finding her outside, Jade appears from above, revealing that Maria fought under the codename, "Cassowary" and tells her to meet him, threatening to expose her past to the rest of the Flower Division. The team face-off against Jade at the same site that they faced off the day prior. After defeating a herd of Wakiji, Ogami discovers that Maria is not in her Kobu, leaving her locket behind. Jade tells Ogami to come alone on a boat to face him off solo, now with Maria strapped as he arrives. After attempting to kill her, the Flying Whale shoots cannons, interrupting him in the process. Jade discovers that the Kobu have tracking devices to track Ogami's current location. After facing off Jade, Ogami returns Maria's locket, now that she recognizes that Ogami is fit to be captain of the Flower Division once again.
The next day, Iris' birthday arrives, and tries to convince everyone to do something special on that day. Ogami agrees with Iris for a date at a movie theater. However, things take a wrong turn that during the movie, Iris hugs Ogami, effectively paralyzing him due to Iris' psychic powers and causing the theater to collapse. The next day, Ogami tries to check on Iris, and asks to re-do her date. However, Iris disappears, as her Kobu has been delivered, and takes her new ride for a spin. The team later face-off against Silver Rasetsu, now with Iris in tow. While trying to find Silver, Iris tries to run away and Ogami & Sakura find her and attempt to cheer her up. Ayame warns him that Iris became agitated and that if he dosen't end her rampage, she would become heartless. After apologizing for the date from the day prior, Iris leaps off her Kobu to hug Ogami. After the team defeat Silver and the day is saved once again, Iris is called once again by Ogami for a secret chat.
Some hours later, the rivalry between Sumire and Kanna become very intense. During their production of "Journey to the West", both Sumire and Kanna injure them in the process. After checking up on them, the team later suit up and are tasked to head to Fukugawa to investigate an abandoned mansion. After heading to the mansion, Kanna encounters a snake, who proceeds to bite her. Ogami quickly acts by healing her wounds. After her wounds have been healed, Kanna tells Ogami about her past. Back in Okinawa, Kanna trained karate under the watch of her late father Takuma Kirishima and forbid her from doing any other activities. Kanna is later infected by the wound from earlier and head together to find the medicine able to cure the wound. However, a Wakiji later arrives and Ogami heads to check up on Sumire. They head to a room, when the Wakiji is currently situated, but Sumire is attacked by a spider. Ogami attempts to heal her wound, but later refuses. Because of this, Sumire tells to Ogami about her backstory, her father is the president of Kanzaki Heavy Industries and her mother is a famous movie actress. However, Sumire lived alone as both of her parents were very busy with work, leading her to live alone with some bodyguards. Sumire ran as she wanted her parents to be always by her side. Until, she encountered a spider, while the web lands on her, effectively biting her. Sumire tasks Ogami with finding her a new medicine, in a bigger bottle, able to cure her wound. After that, Ogami finds a key somewhere in the first floor of the mansion. Ogami & Sumire later approaches Kanna with another key in tow and open up the door to the back room, and reveal that another Wakiji inside of the room. After heading to the basement, they find another Wakiji as they find out that the Wakiji have been posting posters around the mansion. After traveling through a hole to the outside world, they are caught by Crimson Miroku as she arrives at the mansion grounds. The Flying Whale later arrives, with the rest of the team in tow as Sumire, Kanna and Ogami suit up to stop Crimson. After Crimson is defeated, Ogami congratulates Sumire and Kanna for their job during the combat mission.
Back at the theater, the Flower Division host a party, while they disguise themselves as ghosts, constantly flickering the lights, triggering Sakura's fear of thunder, threatening that it would come for her. Ogami heads to the war room, when Yoneda reveals to him that, the Connector, an ancient ritual object used in Kaneiji Temple was used by the Black Hive Council prior to their battles and if all of the connectors are placed, the capital could be turned into ruins, leading to the demons taking over Japan. After the explanation, Sakura talks with Ogami in private, telling him about her past. When she was a child, Sakura would climb up trees, but whenever thunder strikes, she would run away and hide as the "Thunder God" would come for her. Her friend, Takeshi gets struck by lightning in the process injuring him. Since then, she always have feared that the Thunder God would be coming for her. However, Crimson returns arriving at the Imperial Theater's base, with the rest of the team suited up to stop her again. Sakura and Ohgami later find a gun to destroy a stone. As Ogami shoots the bullet, the room explodes with Sakura shielding him in the process. Sakura and Ogami later suit up and catch up with the rest of the team to stop Crimson. After defeating her, Crimson immediately gets away and the team head back to the theater.
During the night, all of the connectors are now connected, with Tenkai and the demons now proceeding to take over Japan. As for Sakura, she has been moved to the infirmary and locked behind a capsule. However as Ogami checks on Sakura, Ayame declares that she is unable to be awaken, with her now being in a state of trance. The team later suit up for the next mission to prevent the capital from being destroyed, as Sakura waits to be awaken. Prior to their battle, Sakura arrives suited up as she disembarks from the Flying Whale as she has been fully awaken. Back at the theater, she tells Ogami that during her state of trance, she was dreaming about her younger self. Young Sakura tells her older self that the team must head to stop a demon sealed behind a gate. Yoneda tells them that, he alonside Ayame were part of the Anti-Kouma Squad, which included Sakura's father Kazuma Shinguji. The squad used a spell to seal the giant Kouma demon deep in the earth under the capital. After the explanation, Ogami and the team suit up to stop Tenkai. After defeating him, Tenkai manages to get away while the rest of the team escape from the collapsing cave.
Three months later, 1924 has arrived and the team celebrate the new year, and Ogami can go on a date with the one that has the highest trust level. After the date, Ogami and the rest of the team head to a shrine. As they enter the shrine, they are encountered again by Aoi Satan, with some new foes, the Three Knights of Twilight, consisting of Inoshishi, Shika and Cho. Satan summons some Kouma demons to destroy Ogami & co. as they later suit up to destroy them. After defeating all of the demons, the Kobu were rendered unable to continue. Back at the theater, Ogami heads to the war room, with the team suited up. Kohran reveals that she is busy with a new invention for the team as they take a three-week break to do some special training.
Three weeks later however, the demons return to attack Tokyo. Because of this, Yoneda reveals the Jinbu, a new type of spiricle armor that is stronger than the Kobu. The team suit up with their new rides to stop Inoshishi. A day after defeating Inoshishi, Ayame discovers that her demon self is almost awakening. Ogami attempts to cheer her up, but the demon would continue to haunt her during the day. Yoneda reveals to Ogami three artifacts, known as the Majinki and its purpose, to guard the Majinko from falling into the hands of the demons. The night arrives and the red moon arises. Ogami attempts to cheer up Ayame, still being haunted by her demon self culminating with a hug. Ayame later gives Ogami her gun to shoot her to fell better. The team later suit up to stop Shika. After defeating him, Ogami reaches atop the builder where Ayame was held hostage, but it was too late. Aoi Satan kisses Ayame, turning her into Aya-me. This led to the entire team mourning the loss of their beloved vice commander, but the alarm sounds off once again as they suit up to stop Cho. After defeating him, the team try to snap Aya-me out of her demon self, but it was too late.
Back at the war room, the final battle arrives and as they fly in their battleship, the team notices that the revue has another one, the Mikasa. After shooting the bullet through the demon hoard, the team the fly to it to stop Aoi Satan and the now-resurrected demons, including Aya-me for once and for all. After Aya-me is defeated, she is resurrected as Michael, the godess. Michael gives some words of advice to Ogami as the team bid a final farewell to their late vice commander. After that, the team defeat the remaining demons and finally, put a stop to Aoi Satan for once and for all.
After that, peace has been restored to Tokyo and the Flower Division focuses on their stage plays, while Ogami receives an ending with the character he chosed during chapter 8.
Sakura Wars 2: Thou Shalt Not Die[]
During the spring of 1925, Ogami, returning to active Navy duty is recruited back into the Imperial Combat Revue by Yoneda, reuniting with Sakura and Iris. However, Sumire was with her family, Maria was in New York, Kohran returned to Hanayashiki and Kanna was training back at Okinawa at that time. During a meeting, Yoneda reveals that a new member has been added to the ranks, the Japanese-Italian actress Orihime Soletta, from the European Combat Revue Star Division. Orihime befriends all of the revues' fellow members and staff but gets very antigonistic with Ogami at the start, due to her dislike of Japanese men. After that, he heads to his room and finds a Kinematron, a steam-powered videophone created by Kohran to communicate with the revue's members, compete with a radio. When the alarm goes off, Ogami, Sakura, Iris and Orihime suit up, putting the Imperial Combat Revue back in business. Ogami notices that while Sakura, Iris and the rest of the Flower Division crew get new outfits. Ogame realizes that Orihime's suit looks a bit different and Yoneda tells him that Orihime pilots her Eisenkleid, the spiricle armor used by the Star Division prior to its dissolution. During the Flower Division's first battle with Aoi Satan, who has returned, the battle is cut short as he was defeated by none other than by the Demon King, the masked swordsman that Sakura believes its her late father, Kazuma later on in the game.
A day later, Ogami and his troupe later encounter Saki, the woman who later becomes Suiko as well as the German wunderkind Reni Milchstraße, who is also from the Star Division, which is believed to be a male at first with Sakura commenting that it was unusual for a man to join the Flower Division, as the Flower Division relies on women to power their Kobu. When looking for Iris, Ogami reunites with Yuichi Kayama, his friend from the Navy, who was employed to lead the Moon Division, the team that defends the Imperial Theater. Kayama tells him that Iris is in the attic and attempts to cheer her up.
Sometime later, Yoneda is assasinated by a sniper and hospitalized. After reuniting with Kanna, Ogami and his team later head to Sumire's palace to stop her from getting married. However, they were rejected entry by the Kanzaki family's butler and thus, with Kanna's fists, she breaks open the giant doors allowing the rest of the team to enter the palace and stop her. Sumire's grandfather, the primary financier of the Imperial Combat Revue convicnes Ogami that he would resume funding if he walks away and leaves Sumire behind to get married. After he decides to take Sumire with her, he, alongside Sumire and Kanna later encounter Kaede Fujieda, Ayame's younger sister. After Sumire's combat return, Ogami and Sakura encounter a stray dog, who runs away before being stopped by a incoming car. The car's door opens to reveal the Imperial Army Minister, Keigo Kyogoku, who has taken the top position and plans a more military-heavy government. Ogami later reunites with Kohran, who tells him about her backstory, her time in China and how her encounder with Ayame, caused her to come to Japan as a foster child in Kansai. Hours later, Kanna tells Ogami that Sakura and Kohran have fled on their own to track Kyogoku, Saki later tells him that Kyogoku is hosting a gathering at a ryotei in Fukugoka later tonight. Ogami later arrives at the ryogoku to check on Sakura and Kohran. While on his way to find them, he encounters Kazutoyo Yamaguchi and convinces him to have a talk. During the talk, multiple fires break out due to an arson attack. Ogami tries to check on Kohran, now turned mad as she is now haunted by the same fire that killed her family in China. They later find out the prepretator who caused this to happen, Kasha. After suiting up and evacuating Yamaguchi, they attempt to face-off Kasha. After attempting to push the button on the detonator, he was stopped by none other than Maria, who came back from her New York trip to reunite with the rest of the Flower Division as they attempt to defeat him. A day later at the theater, Yamaguchi is revealed to be the Navy Minister and promises to advance the Navy to further heights and vows to reinstate financial backing for the revue.
Some hours later, Tsubaki announces that she would be leaving the theater for a secret assignment, while Yoneda is officially discharged from the hospital and announce that the team and Saki would be taking a summer vacation with reservations being made at that time. The next day, when packing up for vacation, Yoneda introduces Ogami to the Rose Division, a trio of effeminate men consisting of Kotone Seiryūin, Kikunojō Oka and Yokihiko Ōta who all serve as the comic relief for the Imperial Combat Revue. Their mission, to guard the theater while they're away. The bus later arrives (albeit briefly exploding due to Kohran's famous backfires) to a ryokan. During their time at the ryokan, Ogami notices that Kayama has also come. The next day, the team and Saki later split into three. If Ogami chooses either the beach or hiking, the day ends with the team lighting up some fireworks and after that, Ogami comes to the hot springs to check up on Reni and discovers that Reni was a female all along. The next day, while exploring a cave with Maria to investigate the destruction of the Kinematron, they get a call from Kongou and discover that Saki is actually Suiko. After escaping from the cave, Maria drowns but briefly recovers herself just in time for the Flying Whale to appear and suit up once more to stop her. After Kongou sends his comrades from either the sea or the mountains, it was time to face Suiko off. However, Kongou later appears suited up to attack the revue alongside Suiko.
After defeating both Suiko and Kongou, the team head back to the Imperial Theater, when the Flower Division discover that Reni ran away during a rehearsal for their production of "Bluebird". During this time Ogami meets Tsubomi Nomura, Tsubaki's temporary replacement during her secret mission. Later that night, as the Flower Division suit up. Kaede tells the truth about Reni, she was part of a project known as "Wachstum", that engineered people with high spiritual power to become soldiers, Reni was its only survivor. The group later split into two, while Ogami and Iris search for Reni. With Reni now under Suiko's control, she is ordered to destroy the Flower Division. After reaching Reni, Ogami tries to stop him as he tells the truth about her intentions with the team. With Reni now back to normal, the team put a stop to Suiko once again. After defeating her, Reni reaffirms her position in the Flower Division and the team once again save the day.
The next day, the Flower Division participate in a Tanabata festival and Ogami & Orihime decide to walk around together. Until they encounter a caricaturist who acknowledges Orihime, with her causing a lot of anger with the caricaturist. The caricaturist later heads to the Imperial Theater and reveals himself that he is none other that Seiya Ogata, Orihime's father who was divorced from his fiancée back when Orihime was a child. Ogata tells Ogami about his youth, his relationship with Carino Soletta and Orihime's birth. Ogata asked Carino's parents for assistance on their marriage, but due to their differences, the two parted ways after refusing to proceed with their marriage. When Ogata was in Japan, he saw Orihime on a flyer for the Imperial Combat Revue and discovers that he could never see her again after so long, praying for her happiness, outright upsetting Orihime after hearing that claim. The next day, Ogami convinces Orihime to force a meeting between the two, turning the meeting into an argument. During the argument, the festival was attacked and a rocket almost hit them, effectively wounding them. Orihime finds out that her hand has blood, as the man responsible for the attack was none other than Kasha once again. Kasha kidnaps both Ogata and Orihime, and briefly reconcile with each other, but under some very unfavorable circumstances. Ogata tells Orihime to get Ogami and the others to suit up and stop him while she stays behind to look after him. Ogami and his team arrive at the site to rescue them from Kasha. After moving to the other side, Ogami heads to the house that they were helding hostage, and breaks in and frees Orihime. The team later defeats Kasha while Ogata heads to the hospital for his recovery the following day.
Hours later, the Imperial Theater was now under attack in a coup d'etat attempt by Kyogoku, regarding Sakura. Yoneda orders him and Sakura to head to Hanayashiki. While heading there, the Rose Division reveal that their true purpose was to guard the Majinki. Kotone tosses the orb to Ogami and tells him that the Majinki couldn't work if all of the pieces are fully assembled. Ogami and Sakura make their escape and board the revue's train to Hanayashiki. After arriving at Hanayashiki, Tsubaki arrives, now suited up to reveal the revue's new ride, the Tenbu, a stronger spiricle armor that is more powerful that the Kobu and the Jinbu from the first game. Ogami and the rest suit up, now with the Jinbu in hand to stop the Demon King and also to stop Kyogoku and his coup forces from taking over the theater. The team later meet up in the war room, where Yoneda tells him that while most of Kyogoku's forces were pushed back, the other two parts of the Majinki were seized by the coup forces. Ogami later talks to Sakura as she deserved to be left alone by this time, as she looks at the last piece of the Majinki currently in her hands. Ogami had enough about the Majinki's existnece and smashes all three artifacts of it into pieces. After that, the team head to Akasaka where Ogami either chooses from a frontal assault or a rear infilitration in order to take down the Demon King once again. After that, the coup forces retreat while Kyogoku is found dead in his home.
After the coup attempt was foiled, the revue head back to the theater to prepare for their Christmas show, known as "Miracle Bells", where Ogami picks the character with the highest trust level to become the play's main star. After that, he is tasked with handling the play such as how they act. The Christmas show also serves as Reni's birthday.
Shortly after the Christmas show, 1926 has arrived and the revue decide to take a break from the frontlines and the character Ogami chosed in chapter 9, convinces him to go somewhere else for the holidays. However, Kyogoku and his comrades are now still alive. Promting the team to suit up once more to stop him. However, Kyogoku has another ace up his sleeves, he has removed the seals to the eight demonic gates of Tokyo, and plans to destroy the city and take over it.
After that, the team head back to the theater as they learn about Kyogoku's resurrection and Yoneda reveals to him that Kyogoku is a descendant of a powerful spirit medium. Until, he reveals the revue's new ride, a new and improved Mikasa. Ogami later heads outside to talk to Sakura about defeating the Demon King once and for all, but the chat is cut short when the demons finally arrive to Tokyo. The team later heads onboard the Mikasa, and plan how they could infilitraty Musashi. But the demons later attack the Mikasa and thus Ogami and his team arrive to the bottom floor and face off against Tuschigumo. After defeating her, the team declare it was very unsafe to use their Tenbu, as they rely on city energy rather than solely relying on spirit power. After Ogami chats with his fellow teammates, it was time to infilitrate Musashi and take down Kyogoku and the Demon King. Ogami, now with the Mekkyaku (the sword that Yoneda gives to him in the first chapter) in his hands, the team head inside Musashi, now riding their Kobus with different special attacks.
After the team defeats Kongou, Ogami leads the team in defeating the Demon King. During the climax, Sakura snaps the Demon King out of his mind control and unmasks himself, revealing to be Kazuma. Sakura share a brief reunion with him before falling to his death. However, Kyogoku is not pleased with how the Flower Division stopped the Demon King and retreats himself. Kyogoku later heads to a chamber with strange pillars with the team heading thereafter. After all of the pillars are destroyed, Kyogoku pilots the Sinnou to put an end to the Flower Division. After defeating his robot, Ogami and his love interest are convinced by Kyogoku to turn evil. Ogami and the Flower Division give one final all-out attack to Kyogoku effectively defeating him. The Mikasa comes through Musashi to pick the Flower Division up, seals Musashi and thus, the day was saved. After that, the team now focus on their shows once again, with the Rose Division trio and Tsubomi now joining along for the ride as well as reciving the ending scene with the character he chosed during chapter 9.
The next day, Yoneda announces that Ogami and the love interest for the game, have been called up to his office. Yoneda reveals that he has been promoted to Lieutenant and has been transferred to Paris, France. A week later, after Ogami packed his bags, the team officialy sends him off in a farewell party, during which his love interest gives him a letter and promises not to open it when on the ship. The day of departure arrives and Ogami arrives at the cruise, while the Flower Division wait up for him to give his final farewell, wishing him luck in Paris. After the ship leaves Japan, Ogami reads the letter, thanking them for his time in Japan.
