Gunstar Heroes is a series of run and gun titles created by Treasure set in the far future where the Earth is nearing destruction from the evil god Golden Silver.

Cameos[]
- Golden Silver also appears in Guardian Heroes as a playable character in the versus mode.
- The game is included in 3D Fukkoku Archives 3: Final Stage. The end credits for the whole game has various Gunstar Heroes characters interacting with other Sega stars such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Alex Kidd and Max Thunder.
Trivia[]
- The original Gunstar Heroes nearly was rejected for release in the west, rejected by 12 producers in a reviewing queue. Fortunately Mac Senour, the final producer in the review queue gave the title a chance. After playing it for five minutes he announced it was a Game of the Year title, despite what his peers thought.
