...a real cool lady who leaves a trail of broken hearts wherever she goes.
DJ Professor K

Gum is a character of Jet Set Radio series. She is a graffiti artist and member of the GG's. She is one of the main and many playable characters in Jet Set Radio, and instructs you on how to play in Jet Set Radio Future.

Appearance[]

Gum dresses in a long green shirt, while wearing a mini white dress reading her name in Japanese over it. Of course, it translates to Gum in English. She also has a tattoo on one of her upper thighs that reads Gum in Japanese as well.

Gum also wears large white and green gloves with yellow stars on them. They're very stylish and are never removed throughout the games.

Gum is always wearing her iconic roller skates, as the define her as a GG member. They're green brown, grey and red.

Lastly, Gum wears a greenish bike helmet with padding, which contain 2 yellow stars, just like her gloves.

In Jet Set Radio Future, Gum’s attire changes completely, as her new outfit is more sexually explicit.

In Sega Superstars Tennis, for some odd reason, Gum’s overdress is missing her Japanese name. However, this might have just been a mistake/error in programming.

History[]

Past[]

Nothing is known about Gum’s past prior to the Jet Set Radio series, but she was a high school student who ran away to join the GG’s around the age of 18.

At some point, Gum learned how to roller skate and spray paint.

Jet Set Radio[]

In Jet Set Radio, Gum is one of the the main characters of the series, and one of the many playable characters. She is introduced at the beginning of the game, as she helps Beat how to become a graffiti artist (tutorial). She then proceeds to join Beat and the GG’s. She, Beat and Corn are the 3 characters available from the start of the game.

Gum is a playable character in most of the levels in this game. She sets Cube's challenge to join the GG's.

Jet Set Radio Future[]

In Jet Set Radio Future, Gum is still a member of the GG’s, being one of 3 available characters from the start alongside Corn and Yoyo. She retains her role of instructing the player on how to play the game properly and introduces the hint to Beat's location.

Other appearances[]

Sega Superstars Tennis[]

In Sega Superstars Tennis, Gum is one of the 16 playable characters in this game, and can be unlocked by completing the 12 mission in the Jet Set Radio world.

When playing as Gum, you can skate around the course, and falling is impossible.

When her special skill is activated during the game, Gum can send in The Tokyo-To Police Force to take out the opposing team, only if the player hits the ball as Gum. Just like Beat, Gum’s theme music is Let Mom Sleep.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed[]

In Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Gum is one of the 24 main playable characters. You can play as Gum after earning 105 stars in World Tour. Her character can be “purchased” in Moonlight Park, along with Gilius.

Gum’s special ability acts just like a blowfish would, however, it drops four broken hearts, leaving a trail behind her (this is an easter egg to Professor K’s description of her in Jet Set Radio Future).

Sega Heroes[]

In Sega Heroes, Gum is a playable green rare hero who was added on October 15, 2018. She has the following gameplay characteristics:

Hero Rarity Skills MAX Skill Mana Costs Traits
