Goji is a bald older man in sunglasses wearing a black suit. He wears an untied white scarf around his neck, and upon being unlocked as a playable character wears grey pair of rollerblades with drill like horns sticking out of them, no doubt a reference to his rhinoceros theming.
History[]
Prior to the events of Jet Set Radio, Goji began to become obsessed with a record known as the Devil's Contract said to be able to summon a demon. He planned to use this record to make a pact with a demon and eventually take over the entire world with it's power.
In order to do this, he tracked down Coin, Cube's and Combo's friend, whose large record collection appeared to include the Devil's Contract. He had his assassins storm Coin's home, destroy the collection, and kidnapped Coin in an attempt to get the record. In order to try and save their friend, Cube and Combo enlist the help of the GG's, who promptly get to work ravaging Goji's property with their grafitti. Goji in turn sends out eight different assassins of his private hitman group, the Golden Rhino to dispose of the GG's, each of them incredibly dangerous and insane.
Goji meanwhile discovers the record was broken into three pieces, and distributed amongst the various gangs of Tokyo-to. He obtains a piece on his own, but Poison Jam and the Noise Tanks have a piece respectively. The GG's defeat the two gangs, obtaining the remaining two pieces, but Goji in turn kidnaps and brainwashes a Poison Jam member to steal back the pieces for him, whilst he keeps Beat, Gum, Corn and the gang busy.
Upon obtaining all three pieces of the record, he reassembles the record and attempts to summon a demon with his DJ Play, getting a demonic rhino to appear atop Rokkaku Tower. The GG's ultimately defeat him, tagging him on the head as Goji falls to his presumed death off the tower.
In Jet Set Radio Future, Gouji Rokkaku is not only the mafia like leader of the Rokkaku Group and Golden Rhinos, but also the creator of advanced robotic creations such as Beat's robotic replica, Zero Beat,Yoyo's robotic replacement NT-3000 and the Noise Tanks who are all robots in this version.
In this game Gouji transforms into A.KU.MU, after completing his tower, and must be defeated by spraying him with graffiti.
Trivia[]
Goji's voice actor is Charles Martinet, most famous for his role as Mario.
It is implied that Goji has Coin murdered, as Combo and Cube never find him again with Combo stating he 'paid a steep price'.
Despite the fact that the Devil's Contract seems to summon a giant golden rhino with demonic powers and turn the sky dark, Combo claims it's just an old indie record and that all of it's devil summoning powers were just old rumours.
Gouji refers to his robotic creations as 'his sons'.
Roboy, who was reprogrammed and modified by Corn, was originally a Noise Tank prototype, meaning he is also one of Gouji's creations.
Goji Rokkaku cameos in Yakuza in the sub-story 'Crisis on the Crapper'. In this game he is stuck on the toilet with a stomach ache without any toilet paper. If Kiryu hands him enough pocket tissues, he will hand Kiryu a business card with his name on it. The man looks considerably different from either of Goji's Jet Set Radio incarnations, being more overweight and having a full head of hair.
