The GG's are the main playable cast of characters and protagonists of the Jet Set Radio series. They are a group of youthful graffiti artists known as Rudies who deal with oppressive forces such as the Rokkaku Group and tune into Jet Set Radio, which is hosted by DJ Professor K, to which the gang has a close connection with. The gang's territory resides in the Shibuya district of Tokyo and participate in turf wars with various gangs, taking over territories while defending their own.

History[]

Jet Set Radio[]

In Jet Set Radio, the GG's was initially formed by Beat, Gum, and Corn/Tab, with them claiming Shibuya-cho as their turf. Shortly after they participate in a turf war with the following gangs: the Love Shockers, Poison Jam, and the Noise Tanks. During this turf war the gang must deal with the police and Captain Onishima, as Tokyo-to's police operation sends out various units and forces to stop the gang. Eventually the gang goes up against the Golden Rhinos, a secret branch of the Rokkaku Group, led by Goji Rokkaku, who is eventually taken down by the gang.

Jet Set Radio Future[]

Taking a place in an alternate universe from the first game, the GG's in Jet Set Radio Future, are already established by Corn, Gum, Pots, and Roboy. The gang gets a new member via Yoyo at the start of the game. Shortly after the gang recruits Beat, and various other characters while once again dealing with various rival gangs such as Poison Jam, Rapid 99, and the Immortals and the oppressive Rokkaku Group. The GG's eventually claim the turfs of Tokyo and take down the mayor Gouji Rokkaku in the process, freeing the city from his company's control.
