Fassie is one of the playable characters in Endless Dungeon. He runs the bar known as The Cafe in the Saloon.
Appearance[]
Fassie is a tall and lean Drakken, who wears a fancy gold trimmed black waistcoat, a white shirt and bowtie. Around one of his horns he wears a golden bracelet, and he has grown a moustache and goatee. The sleeves of his shirt are rolled up, and he wears a pair of black long gloves over his hands and forearms. He wears a 3/4 length pair of trousers which he has three belts attached to.
Ever the keen mixologist, Fassie keeps several of his beverages at his hip attached to his belts, in order to weaponise them against the hordes living in the dungeon.
As a child Fassie was smaller, wore wide round glasses, a more casual black shirt and lacked his facial hair.
History[]
Originally from Auriga, Fassie was bullied as a child by his fellow Drakken, being the butt of everybodies jokes.
Sick of this treatment, Fassie began to search for something to make him special, cooler, better and classier. He began to study mixology, learning cocktail recipes under another Drakken. As he grew up, he became a successful bartender, increasing his popualrity. His Drakken bullies however continued to show disdain for him, pouring his concuctions away.
Desiring to create even more impressive drinks, Fassie turned to the past, learning from the now deceased Endless who had once lifted the Drakken up. Not wanting to simply be average, Fassie took to the stars in order to seek out new recipes, boarding a ship and travelling into space.
At some point Fassie came across the Station, a strange Endless created spaceship that prevented the escape of any who should come across it, and he was brought aboard alongside several others who had been trapped by the Station. Making the best of things, Fassie helped establish the Saloon, a chill out bar that he helped run allowing him to continue his art whilst the group searched for a way to escape the ship that was keeping them prisoner.
When Sweeper turned up, the group doubled their efforts to find an escape from the ship that was keeping them hostage.
Fassie agreed to delve into the dungeon in order to hunt for specs for his latest creations using the Endless' own recipes and ingredients after hearing Zed and Sweeper's plan to go to the Headquarters, which
Personal quests[]
"Let's be very clear on this: I will be the greatest. Not since The Meudelaard, legendary mixologist of the Endless, has anyone attempted such a feat. Contents, techniques, machinery, specifications -- all of these have disappeared, swallowed by the insatiable maw of time. But here, on this station they called "We Must Know More", it is I who will harvest the knowledge, recreate the techniques, and find the ingredients. Beverages will live again that have not been appreciated for twenty thousand years! it will all begin in the Headquarters, where they held their events, where the wealthiest of the galaxy came for refreshment.
I must rediscover the recipe, the ingredients, and the machines; the greatest of the genius of The Meudelaard. The Crystal Bot, with its scanners and its links to the Station systems, will upload all the information available within the Headquarters. I just have to ensure that it doesn't take too much damage!"
1st Quest
- Complete the Headquarters District on Floor 1 with a Crystal Bot at 80% Health minimum
- Reward: 2 Cells + Hero Chip slot
"Crystal Bot's scans indicate that The Meudelaard's highest rated creation, called for "For Those Who Wish to See What Cannot Be Seen", was served in the Headquarters for their great events. But there is no trace of the spec! Shopbot has passed through, scavenging as usual. My best chance to find that rascal is in the Security Vault."
2nd Quest
- Buy the beverage information from the merchant in Security Vault District on Floor 2
- Reward: 3 Cells + Hero Chip slot
"That spec in my waistcoat -- it burns like a fire near my heart. But I cannot make it without a critical ingredient, expired Dust, and I need Precipitate of Dragonroot -- a complicated process. First, expired Dust. I will have to harvest it from Sorcerors. Blurs who were once Dust-wielding Endless."
3rd Quest
- Eliminate 15 Puppeteer Blurs monsters
- Reward: 4 Cells + Hero Chip slot
"The destruction of those powerful damned souls was grim, but necessary. With the expired Dust and the recipe, all that is left is to recreate the Precipitate -- perfectly measured -- using the proper tools and techniques."
4th Quest
- Reach a minimum 7 of production per door in Food, Science and Industry (any difficulty)
- Reward: "5 Cells + Special Hero Skin + New Beverage Recipe"
"It is done! No, that is too feeble a phrase. GLORY HAS BEEN OBTAINED. Yes, much better. This quest has ended; I have everything to create "For Those Who Wish to See What Cannot Be Seen", I can't wait to concoct it for my regulars and see what they think!"
Abilities[]
Fassie as a unit focuses on buffing his allies and acting as a support character. He has a unique mechanic known as 'Spiciness' which is increased through the amount of enemies he encounters and defeats. The bigger the spiciness meter, the bigger the boost for his active ability on his allies, allowing them to devastate opponents easily. His abilities in game are as follows:
- Active ability: Shot! - Throws a beverage to boost the attack of another Hero depending on Spiciness.
- Ultimate ability: Bar Fight - Makes nearby monsters attack each other and increases efficiency of nearby Heroes.
- Passive ability: Stay Classy!! - Gains Spiciness and Wit per monster in the room.
Trivia[]
- Fassie must be unlocked before he becomes playable by heading to the Headquarters area.
- After the game ends, Fassie unlocks the ability to make the Harvey Headbanger drink which activates a harder challenge for seasoned players.
- Fassie's first appearance is as a silhouette cameo in the limited time SEGA's Go 60th anniversary Steam game, Endless Zone. Upon the game's completion, Fassie is seen in the bar in the background on the congratulation screen.
- Fassie is the last known named Drakken left alive in the Endless timeline. After leaving Auriga to search for ingredients, the planet succumbed to destruction at the end of Endless Legend, in which only one species can survive the planet's destruction. With Endless Space 2 revealing the Vaulters are the one's who survived, this would mean the Drakken as a whole did not escape.
- However, in Zed's hero trailer it's revealed that one of the band members of the metal band, Skulltaker is a Drakken.
