Dragon Wang is a side scrolling beat 'em up/maze game released by Sega in 1985 for the SG-1000.
Plot[]
"Dragon" Wang is a young male martial artist who has entered a building to rescue Kyoko, the woman he loves, from a group of deadly martial artists.
Gameplay[]
Players take control of Wang as he kicks, jumps and jump kicks his way through hordes of martial artists and knife throwers to make it to the boss. Every boss Wang defeats gives him a key which will help him progress to the next stage.
The bosses are:
- Bosoh: A bo staff weilder
- Nunchan: A nunchuck expert
- Warpman: A formiddable hand to hand expert who can teleport
- Fundo: A metal chain and weight user
- RB-TT: A small squat robot who shoots lightning from it's mouth.
- Jonathan: The hardest boss, and likely the leader of the group. Bizarrely, he is just a pair of legs, but has the ability to teleport similarly to Warpman.
After beating a stage, Wang will reunite with Kyoko with the words "ONLY WITH TRUE LOVE CAN YOU BECOME HER HERO! TRY NEXT ROUND!". The game has four stages in total that endlessly loop.
