DJ Professor K is a character of Jet Set Radio series. He is the DJ of the titular Jet Set Radio station that the GG's listen to to get their information.
Appearance[]
DJ Professor K is a tall slim built black man with a capital 'K' atop his forehead, wearing sunglasses. His hair is in dreadlocks and his facial hair is shaved into a goatee in both Jet Set Radio and Jet Set Radio Future.
In Jet Set Radio his hair is reddish brown, with longer dreadlocks that stick up wildly from his head. He has a nose ring, and wears a white whirt with a black lightning bolt design, and wears white rimmed blue tinted sunglasses.
In Jet Set Radio Future his hair is now white, and his dreads are shorter, giving him a much older appearance. He wears darker clothing overall this time round with a thick gold chain around his neck and golden green rimmed sunglasses.
History[]
Jet Set Radio[]
In Jet Set Radio, DJ Professor K runs the underground radio station "Jet Set Radio" and commentates on the goings on in Tokyo-to, especially on the rudies turf wars and the happenings with the Rokkaku Police and Golden Rhinos.
For most of the original Jet Set Radio game, DJ Professor K will narrate the story, although he takes a break in Chapter 2 where Combo takes over explaining to the GG's what happened with the Golden Rhinos, and his old crew.
Jet Set Radio Future[]
In Jet Set Radio Future, DJ Professor K has much the same role as before only he is now slightly more involved with the plot, at one point being kidnapped by the Golden Rhino for giving information out about their organisation, leading to the GG's scuppering their plans. He is guarded by Zero Beat, a robotic clone of Beat, preventing him from getting near the mic and allowing Gouji Rokkaku to take over the air waves.
Jet Set Radio 2024[]
On December 8th, 2023, SEGA dropped a trailer during The Game Awards 2023 titled 'Power Surge'. A new Jet Set Radio was revealed to be in development showcasing Beat in a brand new look performing tricks in a city, followed by a close up of DJ Professor K at his Radio decks with a new look.

In Jet Set Radio (Game Boy Advance), DJ Professor K has the exact same role as he does in Jet Set Radio, but he is now also an unlockable playable character once the final stage is beaten.

Trivia[]
- He seems to have a particular affinity for the GG's, as whilst he's broadly on the side of all the rudies in the war between them and the police, he's not above throwing insults at Poison Jam, The Noise Tanks or The Love Shockers.
- His head appears alongside the words 'Loading' in between cut scenes in Jet Set Radio.
- DJ Professor K has a whole heap of unused audio lines found in the game's files.
