Corn (known as Tab in Jet Grind Radio and the European version of Jet Set Radio) is a starting member of the GG's and the leader of the GG's in Jet Set Radio Future.
Appearance[]
He wears a blue jumpsuit along with a blue winter hat. He also has black hair and the hat covers most of his eyes in Jet Set Radio. His rollerblades are yellow with teal wheels.
In Jet Set Radio Future, he wears an unzipped gray jacket covering a yellow shirt, the jacket having his name imprinted in katakana across the jacket in red. He is also the leader of the GG's. He has teal pants with red flame decals on the bottom to match his teal hat. Spiky blonde hair sticks out from the back of his hat.
History[]
Jet Set Radio[]
In Jet Set Radio, Corn is one of first rudies to meet Beat, being second only after Gum in the tutorial.
Corn challenges Beat to see if he can keep up with him, teaching Beat how to locate large graffiti spots, how to create large grafitti by following the arrows and how to grab onto the back of cars. For the last challenge, Corn challenges Beat to follow a certain grinding obstacle path. Upon clearing it, Corn tells Beat he guesses he's cool and joins the GG's. He then proceeds to give one last bit of advice about bullets being unable to touch you when dashing.
From here on Corn is one of the playable characters the player can select to perform missions.
Jet Set Radio Future[]
In Jet Set Radio Future, Corn is the very first member of the GG's that Yoyo meets, as he mistakes the new recruit arriving as the pizza man. Upon finding out he isn't the pizza man, he suggests Yoyo finds Gum and teaches the player how to talk to her. Gum will teach Yoyo how to perform the basic grinding and grafitti action in the game.
Corn then gives information about DJ Professor K and the titular pirate radio show; Jet Set Radio that will help him survive out on the streets as it contains useful information for the GGs about what's going on in the world. DJ Professor K refers to Corn as the self styled genius leader of the group in his introduction to the GGs.
Corn warns Yoyo that the Rokkaku group took over the police force, and that he should be careful when picking his fights in order to not mess things up for the whole gang.
Trivia[]
- Corn cameos in Jet Set Radio court alongside DJ Professor K and Piranha on Sega Superstars Tennis.
- Although going by the name Tab in Jet Set Radio, the name Corn appears in English in Sega Superstars Tennis as a piece of graffiti. This is despite his Sega Superstars Tennis cameo being based on his Jet Set Radio look.
- In Jet Set Radio Future, Corn is said to be the one who rebuilt and reprogrammed Roboy, after finding him in a scrap heap, showcasing his status as 'genius' isn't entirely without merit.
