
"CRI Middleware" is a game developer and publisher. It was formerly known as "CSK Research Institute Corp."(CSK総合研究所), and it was set up to function as a research institute for the CSK group in 1988. The company provides Middleware for the videogame industry and developed and published 2 games as well mainly for SEGA consoles. They shifted main focus in 2001, notably developing games for the Mega Drive and it's accessories, and doing ports of the Puzzle & Action games onto the Game Gear and Sega Saturn.

CRI Middleware creates file formats, programs and other things to be used in software development. The most notable ones being CRI ADX, a streamed audio format allowing multiple audio streams with a low CPU usage. CRI Clipper, a program for helping with lip-sync for videogames. and CRI FileMajik, a fast file system for the Playstation Portable[1].
