Bug Too! is a sequel to Bug! released on the Sega Saturn and Windows in 1996/1997.
Plot[]
Bug having managed to save his family in the previous game and getting his big showbiz return, is in a business meeting with an action film agent, Bug's pet Maggot Dog and fellow co-star Super Fly.
The agent informs the trio that he has great news! He's signed them all up for a movie deal of six action films...only they all have to be filmed and wrapped up by the end of the day.
Bug, Super Fly and Maggot Dog's jaws hit the ground before the agent blows up the office blowing all of them and himself out the building and into the waiting limo below.
Onto the first set to film Weevil Dead 2. Then Lawrence of Arachnia, Attenae Day, Fleewee's Big Adventure, Swatter World and finally Cicada Night Fever...
Gameplay[]
The gameplay for Bug Too! is very similar to Bug! with the exception of being able to select one of the three playable characters; Bug, Maggot Dog or Super Fly and this version allowing for two players to take turns alternatively to compete for high scores.
All three characters must traverse a 2.5D maze of floating platforms, travelling into the background and foreground as well as up walls. Their projectile attack and movement options differ but each has the ability to hover across pitfalls, run and use projectile attacks.
Unlike the original game the mazes are less linear, allowing for more exploration. For every 100 Bug collects he'll earn not only an extra life but also a dragonfly icon. Collecting 3 of these icons will unlock a special Panzer Dragoon style bonus game where Bug rides on the back of a Dragonfly(although notably Super Fly prefers a flying car) scoring points by flying through rings and obstacles.
