Not to be confused with Blaze the Cat from Sonic the Hedgehog series or Blaze Fielding from Streets of Rage series.
Blaze is one of the playable characters of Endless Dungeon. He is found at Fassie's cafe, drinking alone.
Appearance[]
Blaze is a tall, intimidating Craver with four arms, one of which is mechanical and dresses like a cowboy clad in a windbreaker of red and a raggedy brown cowboy hat with a singular playing card lodged in the band.
History[]
The Cravers were originally created by the virtual Endless as a bio-engineered locust like creature that could devour entire planet's worth of food in their attempt to kill their rivals, the concrete Endless. Cravers eat a planet's core out, destroying it slowly from the inside, eating anything and anyone that stands in their way.
Blaze's Craver Hive however was poorly programmed by the Virtual Endless, and it started generating Cravers that followed their own desires rather than their formal orders.
As a result, Blaze whilst still having a ferocious appetite, has more of a mind than the average Craver, and he and his crew of treasure seeking Craver bandits instead decided to explore the stars in search of a big score.
Blaze's posse found their way onto the Station looking for a big score, shredding through the creatures they came across until they opened a door where a single Blob monster was hiding behind...in a room full of high explosives. Unable to resist the urge to blow the creature away, Blaze unleashed a barrage of missiles which led to some accidental friendly fire on his posse's part and the loss of one of his own arms.
Now squadless and stuck in the station, Blaze is looking for a new team to help him make his dream come true...not of escape, but of finding that big score he and his gang were originally after.
Personal quests[]
"Folks come here for a lot of reasons, most of which involve the word, "Oops". Me? I came here on purpose with my old posse, looking for a treasure -- a very particular one. I was guessing that any place that's been spinning in the void for twenty thousand years couldn't be too dangerous. Still, just in case, I brought enough dynamite to blow up two mountains and the valley in between 'em! Oops. Due to a, uh, minor miscalculation, it was my posse that got blown up. But I did learn one thing while we were having fun: somewhere inside this ramshackle, half-disintegrated hulk, is a map to the greatest treasure in the galaxy! And I need to get it -- but first, I need a new posse. I'll try to treat this one a little better..."
1st Quest
- Arrive at the Procedural Factory District, on Floor 2, with a squad at full Health
- Reward: 2 Cells + Hero Chip slot
"We made it, fit as a fiddle! I think they're starting to trust me. Now I gotta train them up -- don't want to end up getting reloaded when I'm close to paydirt. We'll be facing lots of Blobs, and hunting them is my favourite sport."
2nd Quest
- Eliminate 100 Blobs family monsters
- Reward: 3 Cells + Hero Chip slot
"I think the new posse is ready to go -- time to face the labs! There was a species there the Endless were tampering with, and they're the key to the treasure. We'll turn this place inside out!"
3rd Quest
- Search the Life Incubator District on Floor 3 to find clues for Blaze
- Reward: 4 Cells + Hero Chip slot
"Well, hell. Didn't quite hit the jackpot, but at least I know where to find it. The last bit of information is in one of the chests in the Security Vault."
4th Quest
- Look for Blaze's treasure in the second Zone of the Security Vault District on Floor 2
- Reward: 5 Cells + Special Hero Skin
"There it is! This Craver's dream is coming true -- too bad the old posse had such bad luck. I got the location of the planetoid full of khimuz where I am going to settle down. And then consume everything on it, bit by bit. Ahhhh. Might take centuries..."
Abilities[]
- Afterburn (Passive): Percent chance to add fire damage to target
- Hive Mine (Special): Area damage explosives that trigger with a brief delay after enemy contact
- Brimstone (Ultimate): Robot arm launches bombs that target nearby enemies
Trivia[]
- Blaze's mechanical arm is a replacement for the one he lost during the explosion that killed his posse.
- Blaze is one of the only Cravers showcased in the Endless series that isn't ruled by his hunger. He still has a natural love of killing, but is capable of working alongside other species without viewing them as food sources.
- Blaze was used as the face of the 'wild card' update. This update included Station Cards that could be uploaded into Crystal Bot to gain bonuses, District Drawbacks that had negative effects on each area (a pick your poison situation), and Alternative monsters which included electrified blobs, corrosive bugs, light blasting bots and firey blurs.
