The Black Arms were a species of extra-terrestrial aliens on a conquest to rule Earth and rid it of its life. They were created and ruled by Black Doom.

The Black Arms' first interaction with earth was when Black Doom made a deal with Gerald Robotnik to give his blood for Project Shadow. Gerald used the blood to give life to the Ultimate Life Form, Shadow the Hedgehog, making Shadow a member of the Black Arms and Black Doom’s biological son.
Shadow the Hedgehog[]
In Shadow the Hedgehog, 50 years after the deal and after the events of Sonic Adventure 2, the Black Arms finally returned to earth, this time seeking conquest. They invaded Westopolis and Black Doom confronted Shadow. Shadow had amnesia and was promised the details of his past if he brought the seven Chaos Emeralds to the Black Comet.
Once Shadow came to the comet with the Emeralds, Black Doom revealed the race’s true intentions of conquest. This resulted in argument. Shadow became Super Shadow, and Black Doom transformed into Devil Doom. Shadow defeated Doom and then destroyed the Black Comet using the Eclipse Cannon, wiping out the Black Arms entirely and saving the day.

Black Comet[]
The Black Comet is the race’s stronghold and transportation. Most of the Arms reside in the Comet, and it is where Black Doom stays as well. The Comet is quite large as well, having many rooms and places filled with Arms.
