The Archie comics portray Bean as a very wacky character with wild moodswings and a perchant for blowing things up who is considered borderline insane at times. It is implied however that some of this apparent madness is faked in order to throw off his opponents and Bean has been shown to be surprisingly cunning and devious at times.

Bean is a Character from Sonic The Fighters. He is obsessed with Bombs.

HISTORY

In Sonic the Fighters Bean had been entrusted with one of the Chaos Emeralds to prevent Dr. Eggman from abusing it. When the Death Egg II

appeared, Bean and other Chaos Emerald Guardians gathered to see who was the strongest and thus best option to travel there in Tails' single seat spacecraft to destroy Eggman's creation.

Bean is a tricky fighter who isn't above using explosives(actually it's his preferred method of attack), or underhanded tactics to obtain a victory. He is agile, moving in erratic and rapid movements showcasing his eccentric personality. Bean's bombs can also backfire if he's too close getting him caught in the crossfire.

Bean later showed up with Bark the Polar Bear in Fighters Megamix, a crossover fighter which had him set against the casts of Virtua Fighter and Fighting Vipers as well as Janet Marshall from Virtua Cop, Rent-a-Hero's Taro Yamada and a bizarre bunch of other fighters such as 'Kid' versions of Akira Yuki and Sarah Bryant, Hornet from Daytona USA(a car), Mr. Meat(quite literally a floating meat on the bone with floating hands and feet), Deku (a strange anthromorphic mexican green bean) and AM2's Palm Tree logo.

After this title Bean, alongside Bark, went missing from games although according to a wanted poster cameo in Sonic Generations they appear to be considered 'armed and dangerous' and are partners of sorts. It is unclear if this wanted poster is from G.U.N., Dr. Eggman or just the police of City Escape.

Whilst Bean himself doesn't appear in Sonic Mania, his likeness does via an illusion created by Heavy Magician, a badnik member of the Hard Boiled Heavies. In this game he, Bark and Fang the Sniper appear to be standing on badniks as the Tornado is taken down, and are later used by Heavy Magician to fight off Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Mighty and Ray.

The Bean illusion rapidly produces and throws bombs out at the heroes.

Ultimately the Bean illusion is defeated by the heroes.

Comics

Whilst Bean is shown to be a little eccentric, he is technically a heroic character in Sonic the Fighters. The Archie comics however have him team up with Bark as a mercenary duo with Bean doing all the talking and Bark doing the majority of the heavy lifting. The two of them later team up with Fang the Sniper to form Team Hooligan.

The Archie comics portray Bean as a very wacky character with wild moodswings and a perchant for blowing things up who is considered borderline insane at times. It is implied however that some of this apparent madness is faked in order to throw off his opponents and Bean has been shown to be surprisingly cunning and devious at times.
