The Astro City Mini is a fully functional miniature version of the full-sized arcade cabinet that debuted in 1993 in Japanese arcades. The console has 37 games built in, and two controller ports on the back (sold seperately). The console is plug in and play and does not include a built in battery.

It was released December 17, 2020 in Japan as part of Sega's Go Sega 60th Anniversary celebration.

It is the third mini console released by Sega after the Mega Drive Mini and Game Gear Micro.

A follow up console, Astro City Mini V, was announced on 17th December, 2021.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first time Dark Edge, Arabian Fight, Cotton: Fantastic Night Dreams and Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder have recieved a home release.
  • This is the first time Rad Mobile has had a home release outside of Japan.
  • Conversely, this is the first time Shadow Dancer, Cyber Police ESWAT, Sonic Boom and Scramble Spirits have had a Japanese home release.
  • Although the console is based on the Astro City line of arcade cabinets, many of the included games predate the cabinet which came out in 1993.
