Angry Birds

Angry Birds is a Finnish action, puzzle, and strategy based media franchise created by Rovio Entertainment, and owned by Sega. The franchise started in late 2009 with the release of the mobile game with the same name, All Angry Birds content is produced by Rovio Entertainment themselves to this day.

The Angry Birds franchise stars a rare colorful flock named "Angry Birds" who are wingless birds they try to protect three eggs from green-colored pigs of Piggy Kingdom, a monarch by King Pig Smooth Cheeks.

The Angry Birds franchise has been highly successful since the release of the first game in 2009, later it adapted in to shows, comics, and films.

Rovio is investigating ways to expand the Angry Birds brand, Nickelodeon has aired the Angry Birds Christmas short "Wreck the Halls" on December 17, 2011 and aired Angry Birds Space trailer in February 2012.

Television adaptions[]

Rovio released Angry Birds Toons an animated cartoon series based on the Angry Birds games. it premiered on March 16-17, 2013 on third-party platforms, along the the launch of the Angry Birds Toons channel on all of the Angry Birds apps. Rovio released Piggy Tales an animated series featuring the Bad Piggies' lives, which premiered on April 11, 2014. On November 1, 2014, Rovio released Angry Birds Stella which is based on the game with the same name.

After The Angry Birds Movies release, Rovio released two new shows, the first was the third season of Piggy Tales (Third Act), which features the Bad Piggies preforming on stage. the second was Angry Birds Blues which features the Blues having fun with the Hatchlings ruining their plans.

Film adaptions[]

The Angry Birds Movie is a computer-animated comedy film which was produced by Rovio Animation and Sony Animation, it was released in theaters on May 20, 2016 in the United States.

A sequel titled The Angry Birds Movie 2 was released in theaters on August 14, 2019, another sequel titled The Angry Birds Movie 3 will be released in theaters on December 23, 2026.

Comic adaptions[]

In March 2014, IDW Publishing announced that there would be a comic book series based on the Angry Birds games which would start publishing from June 2014 to June 2015, The comic book series was revived in 2016, then revived again in 2017 as "Angry Birds Game Play".
