Alex Kidd BMX Trial is an auto scrolling top down 1987 BMX racing game, developed by Sega.
Plot[]
Alex Kidd must travel back to Radaxian Castle within 24 hours where everyone is waiting for him. Enemies will attempt to keep him away from reuniting with his family.
Gameplay[]
The game came with a unique paddle style controller which players would twist and turn to guide Alex Kidd through obstacles and opponents in order to get home to Radaxian castle via portals in monsters mouths.
Crashing with an object or opponent would not outright kill the player in one hit when Alex falls off his bike, but Alex instead would have a vitality meter that could be upgraded via Rice Ball pick ups along the way. He can also perform tricks such as wheelies, jumps off of ramps and even spouting engines from the back of his BMX to allow him to temporarily fly and get past certain obstacles.
There are five obstacle courses to overcome that include Alex riding through forests, deserts, across the ocean(the wheels inflate for this course), rivers and lastly the kingdom of Radaxian.
When Alex Kidd arrives home to the castle he is greeted by his brother Prince Egle, Egle's wife, Princess Lora, and his mother Queen Patricia and a big Congratulations appears across the top.

- This game is controlled exclusively through the Japanese exclusive controller, Paddle Control, a wheeled controller that players could turn left or right to steer Alex.
- This title is the only title from the Alex Kidd series that did not recieve a western release as a result of the Paddle Control being a Japanese exclusive.
- This is Queen Patricia's only appearance. She is mentioned in Miracle World/Miracle World DX but never actually appears. The Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX artbook contains a sketch of her however.
- Notably, Alex's father, King Thunder, is still missing as this game takes place between Alex Kidd in Miracle World and Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle.
